can anyone tell me why scion offers a wide range of upgrades that were clearly never fully tested in the cars themselves.. or are so poorly installed as to ruin why you paid for the upgrade in the first place?
my biggest beef is the subwoofer. yeah i cheaped out and went for a dealer install sub.. but at the time it was all i could afford. however this does not excuse why scion never actually tested this in their cars in the first place. I dont even fully crank the damn thing and it has already rattled pieces of the car apart. the biggest issue i have is with the speaker covers.
how much would it have cost to put a damn screw into the covers? atleast that you can tighten. atleast that doesnt rattle anytime you turn the bass above 0.
the second biggest beef was that noone.. and i mean noone at the scion dealership /toyota place i went to.. could install the fucking sub properly. first they mount it with screws that pretty much penetrate the thin foam of the underplating all the way to the spare tire.. where i had to put 2 towels under them just to keep them from rattling when i turn it on.. against the wheel. next they installed the damn thing backwards where it doesnt ventilate the compressed air properly instead muffled and muddied the bass, because it is pretty much butted against the hub.
anyone who would have bothered to test this for even a couple days would see that the even low end 300 watt sub woofer would rattle that car to pieces.. showing me exactly how low grade my interior was.
anyone ever think of sound insullation?
