At the Tokyo auto show, Toyota debuted a metallic lime green bB concept, a very production-ready (by the looks of it) compact van-shaped vehicle. Why should you care? Because what we know as the Scion xB started life several years before its US debut as the first-generation Toyota bB, sold only in Japan. I'm guessing that this is the latest version of the xB concept that we saw earlier this year, and that we'll be driving these sometime in 2007:

Re: The next xB?
Sat, August 12, 2006 - 9:56 AMI don't like the looks of it, but more importantly, it's heavier and therefore will be less fuel-efficient than the current xB. I bought mine now because if I waited, I would have to try to buy a used one once the next model becomes the only showroom xB abailable. Can you imagine what you would have to pay to get someone to part with their xB? -

Tue, September 5, 2006 - 10:23 AMi will part with mine pretty cheaply. i haven't been impressed with this car at all. the mileage is about the only thing still keeping this thing in the drive way.

Re: The next xB?
Wed, October 18, 2006 - 1:01 PMI don't dig the new look. Too many of lines look like a PT Cruiser & I do not like that car at all. I don't know that they could really make the box look better. As it stands, it's one of the most unique looking vehicles on the road and no matter where I go, people always ask me questions about it: how it drives, mileage, attention, and fun-factor. I don't think I'd give mine up, lest I had the opportunity to buy a Tc or the newest Civic Si. -

Re: The next xB?
Mon, December 18, 2006 - 4:05 PMAn update:
It's not going to look anything like that. From the views I had of it at the Miami shindig, it will be a bit shorter, about 5 inches, a few inches longer & a bit more of a sloped hood. It is also supposed to have a factory option for a Five Axis body kit and it looked like they were changing engines to the larger 2.0 or 2.4 liter. If I find out more, I will post it up here.
